Here are the main areas we will go on the Joshua Tree Tour:
- Quail Springs Rock Area: Quail Springs, Joshua Tree CA is the first large set of metamorphic boulders that we like to stop at and show you. They are some of the oldest in the park, said to be 1.7 billion years old and you can see veins running along the sides of them.
- A quick stop by Rock Garden Valley Wall: Next we will take you to an advanced rock climbing and rock scrambling area close by the freeway wall where we will walk around and see the scenic landscapes which are filled with Joshua Trees and huge rocks.
- Hidden Valley Campgrounds and Nature Trails: Considered the center of Joshua Tree National Park our main stop, and where we will be spending sometime, is hidden valley, Joshua Tree. Hidden Valley has a lot of history for the Joshua Tree Park and we will show you around the campgrounds and possibly do the Hidden Valley Nature Trail which is a 1 mile loop. We can also do the Wall Street Mill if you’d rather do that.
- A quick drive over to Keys View: A must see view where on a good day you can see 100 miles, clear into Mexico. One of the best views you’ll ever see, up around 5400 feet in elevation, you’ll have a clear view of the entire Palm Springs and Coachella Valley Regions.
- Cap Rock Nature Trail: An optional stop if you are not to tired, Cap Rock offers a scenic nature trail which is quick and easy. Also offers some history and some great photos.
- Skull Rock: Another optional stop if you are not tired, Skull Rock is the most iconic rock in Joshua tree National Park and is worth taking a picture next too. It’s remarkable how it’s naturally sculpted into a pirate skull.

If you book the individual tour for $99 then you will meet next to the Joshua Tree Visitor Center at 10am. The private tours allow for custom pick up times but usually leave at 9am.

Wear good shoes and dress casual. The weather is cold in the winter and hot in the summer so check the weather before you go. Joshua Tree Park is the high desert so it’s a little colder than Palm Springs.
